🖨️Setting Up Printer Accessibility Features

Introduction
The Accessibility app on the printer control panel provides viewing options to help users who have vision disabilities. It enables these users to access the control panel icons and menus. Open the app by navigating to and selecting the Accessibility icon on the control panel.

If the Accessibility icon does not display on the printer control panel, see the steps in "Enable the Accessibility app" to enable the app and use the icon.
If the Accessibility icon already displays on the printer control panel, see "Use the Accessibility app" to adjust the setting options in the Accessibility menu.
Enable the Accessibility app
Follow these steps to set up the Accessibility app on the Home screen of the printer control panel.
Step 1: Access the HP Embedded Web Server (EWS)
Use the following steps to access the EWS.
To set up this feature in the EWS, make sure to allow/enable JavaScript in your Web browser.
Open a Web browser, and in the address line, type the IP address or host name of the printer exactly as it displays on the control panel. Press the Enter key on the computer keyboard. The EWS opens.

If the Web browser displays a message indicating that accessing the website might not be safe, select the option to continue to the website. Accessing this website will not harm the computer.
Step 2: Update the printer firmware to FutureSmart bundle version 4.5 or newer version
Firmware updates increase the printer's functionality and enhance its features. Follow these steps to update the firmware using the EWS:
When an administrator password is set on the EWS, only the Information tab is available for users.
Log in to the EWS using an administrator account.
On the top navigation tab, click General.
In the left navigation pane, select Firmware Upgrade.
In the Current Firmware Information section, check the firmware version listed in HP FutureSmart Level.
Make sure that the printer has an HP FutureSmart firmware version 4.5 or a newer version.
HP Enterprise printers have a compressed .zip file for all operating systems that contains a .bdl firmware file. Use either a USB flash drive or the EWS to install the .bdl file (firmware file).

Step 3: Set up the Accessibility icon
Complete the following steps in the EWS to add the Accessibility icon to the control panel:
On the top navigation tab, click General.
In the left navigation pane, click Control Panel Customization, and then select Home Screen Customization.

Drag the Accessibility icon from Hidden Items, and then drop the icon to the Home Screen.
To drag or move a hidden icon, click and hold the cursor over the icon.

To drop an icon to a specified location, release the mouse button.

Use the Accessibility App
Use the High Contrast, Invert Colors, and Screen Zoom setting options to enhance the readability of the content on the control panel.
Select the Accessibility icon on the printer control panel.

On the Accessibility menu, select the accessibility option in the left pane, and then select the desired setting in the right pane.
High Contrast: To adjust the brightness level of the control panel

Invert Colors: To adjust the background color and text (white or black) of the control panel

Screen Zoom: To increase the size of the contents by selecting a magnification percentage or the Pinch to Zoom setting
