👋Welcome and Introduction
Host sites are essential to the Virtual Court Access project. Without you, it couldn't exist. Thank you for partnering with us at Texas Legal Services Center and for supporting access to justice. We appreciate all of your hard work and commitment!
Our Commitment to You
We, at the Texas Legal Services Center, are committed to providing our partners—the Virtual Court Kiosk Host Sites—with all the support needed to ensure a positive experience for host sites and users alike. The following pages list responsibilities and best practices to help us work together better.
About the Virtual Court Access Project
Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the State of Texas began implementing court proceedings in a virtual setting via video conferencing. This innovative use of technology expands access to justice and increases court engagement for many Texans. And yet, as virtual courts become a permanent fixture within our justice system, vulnerable Texans are left without resources to effectively participate.
The Virtual Court Access Project empowers Texans by providing virtual court kiosks throughout the state and offers a comprehensive collection of educational materials to attend virtual proceedings. The kiosks serve Texans in the heart of their communities—i.e. at your organization!
The kiosks provide the equipment and support for community members to apply for legal aid services, conduct legal research, print documents, and attend virtual court hearings or meetings in privacy.
Virtual court kiosks are available to everyone and may be reserved by users.
