All HP LaserJet Managed MFP E42540 printers include a black and white printer with scan and copy capabilities. See detailed instructions below on how to deal with common issues like refilling the paper or toner, and who to contact if there is a more complicated issue you cannot address on your own.
The host site organization is responsible for the resupplying paper to the printer.
CAUTIONβTIPPING HAZARD: To reduce the risk of equipment instability, load each tray separately. Keep all other trays closed until needed.
Remove paper Tray 2. To avoid paper jams, do not remove trays while the printer is busy.
Adjust the paper-width guides by squeezing the adjustment latches on the guides and then sliding the guides to the size of the paper being used.
Flex, fan, and align the paper edges before loading.
Load the paper stack with the printable side facedown, and then make sure that the side guides fit snugly against the paper.
Make sure that the paper stack is flat at all four corners. Slide the paper length and width guides so that they are against the stack of paper.
To prevent jams, do not overfill the tray. Be sure that the top of the stack is below the tray full indicator.
After making sure that the paper stack is below the tray full indicator, close the tray.
When loaded with legal-size paper, Tray 2 does not close all of the way.
At the computer, begin the printing process from the software application. Make sure that the driver is set to the correct paper type and size for the paper being printed from the tray.
