⬆️Sharing Your Screen in a Video Meeting

Sharing your screen during a video meeting can help others in your meeting view essential documents, intake applications, or webpages. You can allow others in your meeting to see exactly what you can on your screen. To give other meeting attendees remote control access to your screen, read more here.

Before your meeting, close any personal or sensitive documents. This way, you don’t have to worry about accidentally sharing private or distracting information.

Zoom

  1. First, make sure you have joined your video meeting. For step-by-step instructions on joining a video meeting, read more here.

  2. You can tell that the screen sharing is working because you will see a banner below your control panel that says "You are screen sharing" in green and "Stop Share" in red.

  3. It's always good to confirm with other members of your meeting that they can see your screen.

  4. If you want to stop sharing your screen and prevent others from seeing what is on your screen, click Stop Share.

Teams

In Microsoft Teams, you can show your desktop, a specific app, a whiteboard, or a presentation in a meeting.

  1. First, make sure you have joined your video meeting. For step-by-step instructions on joining a video meeting, read more here.

  1. Select what you want to share:

  • Screen lets you show everything on your screen.

  • PowerPoint Live lets you share a PowerPoint presentation.

  • Microsoft Whiteboard and Freehand by Invision lets you share a whiteboard where participants can sketch together.

  • Window lets you share an open window like a specific app you have open.

  1. After you select what you want to show, a red border surrounds what you're sharing. Nothing outside of the red border is shared so for example in the screenshot below, meeting participants won't see any notifications that might come in.

  1. Select Stop sharing to stop showing your screen.

Webex

Anyone in a meeting, as well as a presenter in a webinar or event, can share content up to 4k. The Share content window can be expanded or decreased to any size for purposes of showing as many applications as you need.

  1. First, make sure you have joined your video meeting. For step-by-step instructions on joining a video meeting, read more here.

  2. When sharing content, you can access the share toolbar by moving your mouse to where it says 'You're sharing this screen.' A drop-down list shows your options. To hide it again, move the mouse away

Share only a specific application

Share an application, whether you have it open or not:

Share video content

Sharing video content is slightly different than sharing any other type of content. To handle this difference, meetings and webinars have an optimization selection specifically for motion and video.

  1. Check the Share your computer audio box so that the video sound comes directly through the audio conference.

  2. Check the Share your computer audio box so that the video sound comes directly through the audio conference.

Share a file

Sharing files allows you to share a single file. It could be anything, like a document or video file stored on your computer.

If you already have the file open, share your screen or application. File sharing may not work when you're trying to share a PowerPoint presentation with embedded video.

  1. Choose the file that you want to share.

  2. Your file opens in the meeting, webinar, or event window, where people in the meeting can collaborate on it.

CourtCall

To share your screen, the CourtCall Moderator or Host will need to grant you access. Participants and Hosts can screenshare in the Main Conference and in many private sub-conferences simultaneously.

Please Note: For security purposes, the Moderator or Host(s) have access to revoke screensharing capabilities at any time.

  1. First, make sure you have joined your video meeting. For step-by-step instructions on joining a video meeting, read more here.

  2. Press the β€˜Screenshare’ button in the bottom control bar.

  1. Once access is granted by the Host, a pop-up will appear letting you select what you would like to share. Choose from either Entire Screen, Window, or a Browser Tab. Additionally, you will have the option of sharing your computer audio by checking the box at the bottom of the pop-up window. Press the blue β€˜Share’ button.

  1. When you are finished, press the β€˜Screenshare’ button. Then press β€˜Stop Sharing’ in the pop-up box.
